Enjoy a family-friendly historic train ride along the historic Hocking Valley right-of-way!
Our signature train ride is the East Logan Train! This diesel-powered train ride departs Nelsonville at 1:00 every Saturday and Sunday Memorial Day Weekend through the end of September.
The ride is a 22-mile round trip and lasts about two hours and 15 minutes. As you ride in our vintage passenger cars, we will travel back in time as we traverse the 156-year-old route. We will pass historical sites such as the remains of Hocking Canal Lock No. 19 and will follow the Hocking River. You’ll also get a glimpse of the current industry in the valley including gravel mining operations and a lumber facility. In addition, most of these weekend trips will include a stop at Hocking College’s Robbins Crossing Historical Village at Hocking College (subject to availability as the village is not a part of the HVSR).
You may bring soft drinks and food aboard.
Limited restrooms on the train (restrooms available in the Depot).
Wheelchair lift available at the depot as needed.
The train is scheduled to leave promptly at 1:00. Passengers should arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the departure. Wheelchairs should arrive closer to 45 minutes to an hour before departure. Thank you!
